Background

    Dr. Stuart Thorson is directing research in the area of integrated information technology involving collaborative research teams from Syracuse University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang, DPRK. He is also examining e-governance efforts on the Korean peninsula and the PRC.

Biography

    Dr. Stuart Thorson, Professor of Political Science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, is involved with a multidisciplinary team doing research in the area of systems assurance. His particular interest within this area involves e-governance and questions of privacy and security. Thorson's research focuses on the impact of information and communications technologies on governance. Thorson also directs the interdisciplinary graduate certificate program in Information Technology, Policy, and Management. He received a B.A. from Macalester College and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
