Six Party Talks June 2008 Statement of the Chair

Mr. Wu Dawei, head of the Chinese Delegation to the Six Party Talks, released this Statement of the Chair on June 26, 2008. It states that "In the spirit of the October 3, 2007 Six Party agreement, on June 26, 2008, the DPRK will submit its nuclear declaration to the Chair of the Six-Party Talks, and the United States will implement its obligations to remove the designation of the DPRK as a state sponsor of terrorism and to terminate application of the Trading with the Enemy Act." This should be filed as a "government, other" on the NCNK data base; Statements of the Chair are typically released when the six parties cannot come to agreement on a final text. However, this was filed as an "international agreement" to make it easier to find.
