On Wednesday 15 April 2026, SIPRI will host a webinar titled ‘Beyond Deadlock on the Korean Peninsula: Pathways for Dialogue and Regional Stability’. The webinar will take place at 8:00–9:15 CEST on Zoom. Participants can register in advance.

The event will examine the prospects for renewed diplomatic engagement on the Korean Peninsula, including dialogue between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and between North Korea and the United States. Panellists will revisit the idea of a North East Asia regional security dialogue as an alternative platform for risk reduction and broader regional stability. The discussion will be followed by an open Q&A session for audience members.
