Movement on the Korean Peninsula: For Better or Worse?

On March 5, 2018, North and South Korea officials met face to face for the first time. Later, Kim Jong-un visited Beijing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping—his first foreign visit since he assumed office. Now, President Trump has agreed to meet with the North Korean leader in May. What does this mean for the Korea Peninsula? How will these talks affect the North Korea nuclear weapons program? How will a change in North Korean foreign policy impact the security and geopolitical dynamic of East Asia?

The World Affairs Council-Washington, DC will a host expert panelists to explore changing power dynamics and Asia, and its effect on U.S. foreign policy.
