Korea Economics Institute
1800 K St NW. Suite 300, Washington DC
August 8, 2018, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
KEI would like to share some cases of successful North Korean defectors’ start-ups and employment, in order to prompt a discussion on how to prepare for cooperative and balanced development in the era of a Unified Korea.
North Korean defectors have a unique vantage point, as the only ones who understand both the environment of North Korea, as well as the market economies of South Korea and the United States. Their self-sustainability and capacity will play an important role in the development of North Korea when the two Koreas unite.
Please join Korea Economics Institute (KEI) to hear the stories of North Korean defectors who continually strived to challenge themselves through employment or starting their own business. KEI hopes to open a safe space for valuable discussion on how to prepare for a Unified Korea alongside North Korean defectors.
