The Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade will hold a hearing entitled “Administration Goals for Major Sanctions Programs” at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
This will be a one-panel hearing with the following witness:
• The Honorable Marshall Billingslea, Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing, U.S. Department of the Treasury
This hearing will examine the Administration’s use of economic sanctions to achieve foreign policy objectives with respect to Iran, North Korea, Russia, and other countries of strategic importance. The hearing will emphasize the need to evaluate the impact of such sanctions; to tailor measures in pursuit of discrete and realistic goals; and to ensure that the Treasury Department’s operations allow for sanctions’ successful implementation.
