The GW Institute for Korean Studies will host independent filmmaker and author Dai Sil Kim-Gibson for a screening and discussion of her film Barbed Wire Fence. Barbed Wire Fence is about the fence that divides the Korean peninsula into North and South ever since the 1953 Korean War Armistice Agreement. It runs alongside the Han River near the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The screening with conclude with a discussion and Q&A session moderated by Young-Key Kim-Renaud, professor emerita of Korean language and culture and international affairs.
