Though North Korea is no newcomer when it comes to making the news, recent headlines involving the Korean peninsula have concerned even those who are most disconnected from the issue.
But whether one is a human rights activist working to rescue North Korean refugees, a policymaker focusing on nonproliferation, or a humanitarian aid worker providing medical aid to North Korean hospitals, the shared understanding is simple: No one wants another Korean War.
To find a peaceful resolution, what must be done? How can various stakeholder groups share their experiences to find collaborative solutions? The North Korea Strategy Center is hosting a half-day conference in Washington, DC and inviting organizations with significant yet diverse expertise on North Korea. The goal of the event will be to explore recent issues and discuss the experiences of non-governmental organizations that have worked on North Korean issues for the past decade.

Panelists will include representatives from US-based groups with various perspectives on North Korea policy, as well as North Korean defectors, including two who were formerly in the North Korean government. Congressional members and staffs with legislative and policy interests on North Korea will be invited to speak on relevant and timely issues.
