With the outcome of the US presidential election now determined, the nation is looking ahead to the next four years of American foreign policy. Challenges in Northeast Asia will loom large on the next administration’s agenda: North Korea’s military cooperation with Russia and increased nuclear capabilities, concerns about defense cost-sharing and the alliance at large in South Korea, and political uncertainty in Japan among them. How might President Trump respond to these challenges? Is there potential for the next administration to create opportunity in the midst of uncertainty?

Drawing upon her experience covering North Korea and the region for The Washington Post, Tokyo bureau chief Michelle Ye Hee Lee will join NCNK for a fireside chat to address these questions and more.
