[Webcast] North Korea: The Last Transition Economy?

*All webcast events are listed in Eastern Time*

The North Korean economy is reportedly smaller today than it was at the end of the Cold War and per capita income is only a small fraction of that in South Korea. While much of the population works in agriculture, a significant portion of the population is food insecure. Despite North Korea’s economic struggles market activity has expanded over the last two decades and continues to grow even under sanctions.

KEI will host a discussion of the current state of the North Korean economy and whether it will be the world’s last transition economy based on a new report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

This event will be livestreamed on Zoom with an interactive Q&A session.
