This Atlantic Council and East Asia Foundation Strategic Dialogue brings together US and ROK officials, lawmakers, and opinion leaders to develop forward-looking recommendations on the most pressing challenges facing the US-ROK alliance and economic partnership. The theme of this year’s Dialogue is “Adapting the US-ROK Alliance to a New Era,” and it will feature two panel sessions. The first panel session, “The Moon-Biden Summit: Key Takeaways and Next Steps,” will examine the outcomes of the first meeting between the two leaders since President Biden’s inauguration and identify concrete steps both countries can take to strengthen the US-ROK alliance in light of key outcomes from the summit. The second session, “The Future of US-ROK Economic Cooperation: Innovation, Technology, and Global Supply Chains,” will focus on assessing prospects for cooperative economic efforts to develop critical and emerging technologies and to secure global supply chains.
