Jennifer Deibert is committed to seeking peace across divides and is currently serving as the North Korea Program Director with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Deibert’s work includes responsibility for MCC’s humanitarian programs including support for pediatric hospitals in North Korea. She has also led agricultural exchange delegations from DPRK to Canada. MCC has been engaged in humanitarian work in North Korea since 1996 – providing food assistance, placing English teachers, facilitating agricultural education and exchange, and supporting pediatric hospitals. MCC seeks to serve as a reconciliatory presence on many sides of the divide, with the program in North Korea, an office and peace education work in South Korea, and advocacy offices in Washington DC and at the United Nations in New York.
Deibert is based out of MCC Northeast Asia in Chuncheon, South Korea. Before moving to Korea in 2014, Deibert served with MCC in Hanoi, Vietnam and Reedley, California. She has held several positions in the MCC Northeast Asia office, including working with development projects in China, overseeing finances, and coordinating young adult exchange programs in China and South Korea. She is a graduate of Fresno Pacific University with a BA in English.
