GAO report on actions to facilitate the U.S. resettlement of North Korean refugees from overseas.

This report, published on January 17, 2009, is "submitted pursuant to Secion 107(d) of the North Korean Human Rights Act of 2004, as ammended." It is the final report submitted by the first Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights, Jay Lefkowitz, and contains his assessment of "the current situation in North Korea as it pertains to human rights." It also "recounts progress and impediments to acheiving the mandate given to" Mr. Lefkowitz and contains his suggestions for future policies and programs.

Text of Public Law 108–333, the North Korea Human Rights Act of 2004, as originally signed into law. The law has subsequently been amended and reauthorized in 2008 and 2012.
